Artwork created for the Dream Palace season at BFI Southbank, one of the opening seasons programmed as cinemas reopened after lockdown.
The season was inspired by Sight & Sound’s editorial campaign ‘My Dream Palace’, which sees film industry luminaries pen their own love letters to cinemas; the campaign has celebrated and ‘kept a light burning’ while cinemas around the world were closed.
The artwork proudly celebrates and draws on the theatrics and textures of NFT1, BFI Southbank’s very own ‘dream palace’. It also gives a nostalgic nod to the typography and signage epitomised by the golden age of Hollywood.
